Dad, it’s June 2007. And I’m sitting on my back porch in Branson, and I’ve thinking about what a great father you have been to me. Father’s Day is coming up and I just wanted to make a recording – I want to share with you some of my memories that are special to me – that you and I have created.
And you know that I’ll be nervous on this recording and I just wanted to give you some of my thoughts and have this so you can listen to it any time you want to. I want you to know Dad that you have been an amazing provider.
You have done so much so I could have so much. I know you have worked tireless hours, into the wee hours of the morning. drive tractors, to do things I can’t even imagine, and you’ve probably never shared with me so that I could go to college.
I know you’ve worked very hard to reduce your debt and be debt free and be a good example for us. You’ve worked so hard at being a success.
It takes hard work and determination you have to be one of the most persistent people that I have ever watched. You’ve taken a lot of trials and a lot of heartache and a lot of just great hart and wonderful determination.
Dad, I want you to know that growing up on a farm was a great way to grow up. Riding on columbines and tractors – riding three-wheelers.
Fishing and having picnics in the bayou. Dad, what an amazing thing to play in the fields, I can remember Travis and I digging holes in t he field so we could play with his little cards. plaing
Even the opportunity for you to teach me to be a business woman
Teaching us to work I’m so thankful that you taught me to work and you taught me the value of determination and doing things the right way. I just want you u to know that I love you. You’re an amazing man.
You have done amazing things for me and Travis. You’ve been there You’ve always been encouraging and supportive. I’m just so proud that I’m an Odom and that I’m your daughter.
And I wanted to spend the rest of my time on t his recording reading you some Scriptures that I really enjoy – and I think you u will enjoy them too
This first one is from Psalm 139 – it’s from the New Living Translation
O Lord, you have examined my heart you know everything I do, you know what I am going to say, even before I say it.
