For my dear sister,

Sally, sweetheart!  In celebration of your 75th birthday, I want to celebrate you, dearest one.  I love you as my sister and as a beautiful friend. 

 

You have blessed my life and the lives of so many again and again.  Your winsome personality draws others to you with delight.  Your beauty blesses the earth.  Your warmth makes others feel comfortable.   Your laughter gives life to the moment. You have the gift of having fun. 

 

You have faithfully served God.  How many lives have been touched through Meals on Wheels in the Episcopal Service Life Community?

 

You have taste and style whether in your lovely home, the East Avenue Gift Shop or the Tip Top Shop.   

 

Everyone smiles when they see you, because you light up the room whether for your Twig, at the Chatter Box or the Garden Club.  No wonder you received the orators crystal bowl for the generations award.

 

Here are some wonderful memories of how you especially loved me:

 

• Do you remember lending me that fun pink dress with the elasticized top to wear? I was 6 and you were 16.  That must have looked cute. 

• You took me and my friends and me to the Amusement Park in your Pontiac Convertible with the lighted Indian head and let us sit up on the back roof driving home. 
• You introduced me to pizza. 
• You sewed me clothes.  I still remember one pink taffeta blouse
• You would make me that delicious coffee moose.  Yum, yum, yum. 
• You gave us as a wedding gift a rocking chair, which is a treasure.  Our children and our little sweet pea Lackley were nursed by their mommies in that chair.

 

Whether holiday gatherings, playing grocery store or simply being Mom and Namie you are loved by your wonderful children and grandchildren.   As the Word says in Proverbs 31 (my paraphrase) A woman of noble character who can find.  She is worth far more than rubies.  You, Sally, are clothed with strength and dignity.  You can laugh at the days to come.  You speak with wisdom and faithful instruction is on your tongue.  You watch over the affairs of your family.  Your children should rise up and call you blessed.  A woman of the Lord is to be praised.  Give her the reward she has earned and let her words bring her praise. 

 

I praise the Lord that He is surrounding your life with love, joy and much laughter.
